New Year Resolutions 2019

Every year I promise to be a better version of myself. This year I plan to improve in my following roles in life:

As a human being

  • Overcome fears
  • Charity work
  • Be less materialistic (Buy less clothes)
  • Travel more
  • Take care of skin more using natural solutions
  • Exercise at least 15 mins daily
  • Take criticism as an opportunity to improve. Don’t get defensive

As a Muslim

  • Continue 5 namaz
  • In winter complete missed fasts
  • Give Zakat
  • Read 4 Quls everyday
  • Do more Duas
  • Listen to Nauman Ali Khan podcasts often
  • Attend Quran class every Tuesday
  • Start English tafseer of all surrahs on new Quran

As a wife

  • Be patient
  • Be pleasant
  • Be polite
  • Be loving
  • Don’t get agitated easily
  • Control PMS
  • Find ways to make housework less daunting (watch dramas)
  • Help in future plans
  • Keep in touch with in-laws

As a pet owner

  • Play with them often
  • Talk to pets often
  • Never miss their meals, water & litter change

As a sister

  • Accept them as they are
  • Advise only when needed
  • Skype at least once a week
  • Spend quality time with them
  • Talk positive

As an intellectual professional

  • Read more books
  • Focus on saving more
  • Be professional
  • Complete work before deadlines
  • Send timely updates to manager
  • Play more chess

As an artist

  • Paint more
  • Make journals

As a citizen

  • Obey all rules
  • Practice driving in Canada
  • Say no to littering

As a daughter

  • Be nice
  • Help her out as much as possible
  • Take out time to talk to her daily

As a granddaughter

  • Talk to Nani jaan & nana jaan
  • Send her gifts and handwritten notes

As a friend

  • Keep in touch with all good friends
  • Send audio messages on Whatsapp to all good friends

New Year dietary resolutions

  • 8 glasses of water daily (lemon water preferred)
  • Eat more eggs 4 a week at least
  • Less junk food
  • Eat a raw vegetable & fruit daily apart from food
  • Replace honey with sugar whenever possible
  • Eat oatmeal
  • Try wholemeal instead
  • At least 1 glass milk every day
