Today on Mini Travel Series is the magnificent PEARL CONTINENTAL HOTEL, MUZAFFARABAD. The hotel offers stunning views of snow clad mountains and the city. It has children’s play area, gardens and table tennis faciliities to keep you entertained. The breakfast hall offers gorgeous views and a good selection of bouquet (Desi: Halwa Poori, bhujya. English: pancakes, hashbrowns & sausages).

It is approx 3.5 hours drive from Islamabad. I would highly recommend families to plan a long weekend trip to this gorgeous place. Ideally a two night stay there is perfect for a couple. We went in December. The journey and hotel area is mostly free from snow. The hotel is located at a very scenic spot on the top of a hill. It is visible from far away and it has gorgeous views.

Make sure you book a mountain view room at the hotel and try to get corporate rates through work. All you need to do is send an email to their sales department from any official email address. A day trip to ‘Pir Chinasi’ via local jeep is highly recommended too. I posted on that earlier.  If you’re a couple, make sure you keep a softcopy of your nikah nama/cnic card with husbands name written on it. The police stopped us on the way and asked us for ours.

Once they found out we are married, they stopped us to give them mithai treat of our wedding. I didn’t like how they didn’t mind their own business but we went with the flow and laughed it off. It was no doubt a blissful weekend getaway! If you have been, what were your best memories from the stay?
