The best brownies I’ve ever had — and now you can make them too
Ever since I had these brownies at my friend’s place, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I craved them so badly that I finally asked for the recipe — and she was kind enough to share! I love this recipe because it’s incredibly delicious and surprisingly easy to pull together. After I posted the baking process on my IG stories, the requests for the recipe kept flooding in — so here it is. Fair warning: I devoured the whole batch in a single day. Oops.
I’m sharing two versions below. The oven version comes first — it’s my favourite because the brownies turn out extra moist and fudgy. The microwave version follows after, which is great when you’re in a hurry. Both use the same ingredients!
Oven version
Moist, fudgy, and worth every minute. This is my go-to.
Dry ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
Wet ingredients
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
Method
- Start by heating your oven to 350°F. Prepare your pan — an 8×8 inch square or a 9×5 loaf pan both work well. Grease it and lay down a sheet of parchment paper or foil, then set it aside.
- Put the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl and melt it down (around 1 minute should do it). Tip in the sugar and cocoa powder and give it a really good whisk — at least a minute — until everything comes together smoothly.
- Crack in the eggs one at a time, add the vanilla, and keep whisking for a good minute. You want the batter to look glossy and well blended.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and fold them in gently until you no longer see any dry streaks. Don’t overwork it — less mixing is more here.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth it out. Bake for around 20 minutes, keeping a close eye towards the end — you want the centre just barely set. Pull it out before you think it’s done!
- Let it cool down fully before slicing. I know it’s hard to wait, but it’s worth it.
Frosting
Feel free to use any frosting you love — this is just my go-to.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp cream or milk (adjust for consistency)
- Nutella, any chocolate spread, or milk chocolate — whatever you have on hand
Method
- Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat.
- Add the cocoa powder and your chosen sweetener (sugar, chocolate spread, etc.) and stir well.
- Add a splash of cream or milk and stir until you reach a pourable consistency.
- Pour over the cooled brownies.
Quick microwave version
When you need brownies fast — same ingredients, done in minutes.
Ingredients
Same as the oven version above.
Method
- Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs well.
- Add the remaining wet ingredients to the eggs and mix until combined.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined.
- Line and lightly grease an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper and an oil spray.
- Pour the batter into the pan and microwave for 3 minutes 30 seconds.
- If it seems underdone, microwave in additional 30-second bursts until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Keep in mind: the brownies will firm up as they cool, so it’s better to slightly underbake than overbake!
Give this recipe a try and tag me in your Instagram stories when you do — I’d love to see your brownies! Drop a comment below and let me know how they turned out.

Is there a baking option in the microwave? Or can i simply turn it on to how I normally heat food?
Just like normal. No baking setting required. 🙂

keep it covered. Also while cooking. keep it moist. not too much. esp in last 30 secs.

Wow. Amazing. Will definitely try it
For sure. will wait for your comments.
Do I need a baking oven for it?? Which oven is best, heating, baking or cooking??
No… As clearly mentioned in the recipe. It is made in a microwave oven, not a baking oven.
Is it regular aata (flour) or is it fine flour?
ITs flour (maida).
