Movie Review 'Hindi Medium'

Here is my first ever movie review. I am going to keep it as short and concise as possible. I don't want to ruin it for those of you who intend to watch it. I feel very strongly about making an effort and promoting Pakistani movies or movies with our actors. Yesterday we watched Bollywood's new release 'Hindi Medium' featuring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar. I totally agree with its messages so it touched my heart. Here are my thoughts on it.

Script: Very well-written, humorous and thought-provoking
Acting: Superb. Both actors did a great job
Summary: A must watch family movie

So... What Do You Do?

Socializing is very important for our well-being in many different ways. In order to mingle with others and to break the ice we have to start with some very basic questions like: 'What do you do?. Unfortunately, a lot of people these days don't have hobbies. So when you ask them this simple question, they will stare at you blankly and say "Nothing much! Watching TV and eating" or they will say "My children are my only hobbies. I have no time for anything else". I can't believe anyone can just waste away their life like that. You are missing out on so much which could contribute to enriching you and fulfilling your life's purpose. Hobbies play a major role in your contentment.

Kindness towards Animals

My family and I have always been animal lovers. We have enjoyed keeping dogs and cats all our lives.  We even kept chickens, rabbits, birds and squirrels. Our pets have always had their unique personalities and mood swings just like all of us. It’s amazing how each animal has its own unique personality trait. Many of our friends never understand how we communicate with our animals and know how they're feeling. We don’t always know what is on their mind but we can mostly tell what they want. They always make it very clear to us. One of my best friends Silky Kohli once asked me 'how can you talk to a cat or a baby? You know they can’t understand you right? I replied, ‘You know they may not know our language, but they understand what we tell them very well. They understand our tone, expressions and gestures.' She was intrigued by my answer. I have grown up in a family who communicates with humans and animals. We often talk to wild animals we see outdoors. We never questioned ourselves on why we talk to them. It has just always been something that’s done.

I play chess. a lot of chess; every day of chess. I learned the game probably at 7. I love it, its need to think, and the way it requires you to think. I have been seeing my Nani and Nana play this game all my life. My earliest memory is that they would let my sister Nataliya and me play with the pawns that had been killed. Once when we were very young, my sister and I were playing. As soon as I did my turn, she gave me a slap and told me that you can’t just move your pawn just like that. First, you have to think! Our grand parents are the ones who taught us the rules of the game as well. It is impossible to beat them even today. They are now 80 and 87 year old but Mashallah wicked at chess.

My Nana and Nani's favorite past time

According to Wikipedia, Chess is a two-player strategy board game which is played on a checkered board. It is one of the worlds most popular and intellectual games. It is played by millions of people worldwide in homes, parks, clubs, online, by correspondence and in tournaments.
