Organizing Chaos - Wallet

A wallet is the most important and valuable item which we carry around with us. Regardless of our gender, we all carry a wallet with us where ever we go which is why it is pretty common for it to be lost or stolen. Most of us have misplaced it at least once in our lives.

16 Tips for Young Independent Women

This post is specially dedicated to independent women who are either students or entering the business/corporate world. Most of the women I know demand justice and are eager about feminism. But there isn't much focus on becoming a more enriched, wholesome and confident female. I did some brainstorming today and here are 16 reminders on how to become an independent woman who is in charge of her life.

Oscar Mike Golf!

Hello everyone! We all have seen the drama Alpha Bravo Charlie but I get surprised when I hear that many people around haven't heard of the Phonetic Alphabets. Here is another effort to organize our lives just a little bit more.

Whenever we are talking to someone on the phone and we need to tell them important details like our address, email address or pass-code, it is vital to get the exact details across without the fear of miscommunication. This is why Phonetical Alphabets came into being. It is very important for all of us to remember these like the back of our hands.

Mind Your Muck!

I finally decided to write about something I feel very strongly about. Each one of us has a duty to be a responsible citizen. We have legal, social and moral obligations which we owe to our country which has given us everything, above all the freedom to reside in it as and when we want. Even for all those who have left the country, Pakistan is always a backup plan in case everything else fails, they always have a home to come back to. Pakistan is our abode; haven, land and address. No matter how many Nationalities we get on paper, we can never be a part of them. This is where we fit in.
This is where we belong.

My Bedtime Routine

I have always been a night person. I absolutely hate waking up in the morning. Even though I've been doing 9-6 for a really long time now. This routine isn't my piece of cake. I keep snoozing my alarm till I have to literally run to make it to office every morning. Knowing I can hardly move in the morning, I prepare for my days a night before. Today I will be sharing my typical bedtime routine with you guys. What keeps me busy at night before I conk off.

Monthly Budgeting & Saving

Allah is really generous and takes care of us in every way. Even if we tried we will not be able to thank Him for his countless blessings. It's amazing how we live month after month spending away our resources and yet we have enough to survive/afford a luxurious lifestyle; even in this day and age when prices have gone higher than ever before. Whether you are single, married, employed, have a business or even unemployed, it is vital to write down your monthly income and expenses. At the end of every month, you just need to add it all up and find out how much you saved or over-spent. In my Organizing Chaos series on the blog, I had touched this topic previously called Finance and Asset Management. For those of you who didn't get a chance to read it, here is its link. The reason I am writing on the same topic once more today is because it is extremely important.

That's the only way you can:
  • Know where you stand in terms of income and expenses
  • Plan to increase your savings
  • Save up for a rainy day
  • Avoid begging others at time of need
  • Be in charge of your financial situation
  • Protect yourself against fraud
  • Keep a record of what happens in your life

Mobile Applications

Dear readers,
I have missed you all. I have been very occupied in my personal life which is why I wasn’t able to write on my space for a few months. Today I am writing about my android mobile applications.

 Home screens and installed apps
It is impossible to deny, that we are now truly in the digital age. If we have to name one gadget which has changed our lives the most, we have to give the credit to our smart phones. They have really changed our lives tremendously. We can't even image life without it as we have become so dependent on it. It’s surprising how we survived without it only a decade ago. Most of us have a lot of applications installed on our phones. These can help us keep our lives organized, keep us entertained, note down our important lists and also navigate the way. We cannot even imagine life without our cell phone.

Organizing Chaos – Travel Kits

During a road trip to Dolgellau, Wales

Good morning! I hope you are well. Today we will be discussing a different aspect of organizing. There are a lot of people who (like me) love taking tours to explore the world. And then there are those who have to go on trips because of work or family. Irrespective of the reasons, most of us wander a lot in our lives.

Organizing Chaos - Phone, PC, Office & DVDs

Good afternoon you guys! I hope you all are well. I love bumping into people I barely know and hearing their stories on how Organizing Chaos inspired them to keep cleaner closets or more organized jewelry. I’m thankful to all of you who take out time from your busy routines to read and comment on this space. For all those who tell me that they tried to comment but couldn't without registering, I have added an option for anonymous commenting. It is very simple to comment on this blog now. All you need to do is select anonymous from the dropdown list and comment with your name. Comments are what makes all this worth it really.

Organization doesn’t only cover tangible aspect of our lives but also intangible like computers, phones, portable hard disks and online space e.g. Email, Dropbox, Skydrive & 4shared. Most of us have internet in our mobile phones and laptops which has made information more accessible. We need to now make sure that we are not facing information overload. Some of us may say, “well we have bigger issues to worry about and can't be bothered to think about these details”. Fair enough! As long as your main folders are in place, you search for files fairly easily, and are not having space/speed issues; its all good.

Organizing Chaos – Finance & Asset Management

There was an amazing feedback on the first part of this series, on why I was inspired to start putting things back into place. Here is a link to Part 1 for those of you who missed it. The reason I am starting with Finance, Assets and then Paperwork (next post) is because these are the most important, priority wise. If we don’t sort these out, the consequences can be catastrophic. Slight inattentiveness, negligence or recklessness can cost someone his whole life’s hard work and a lot of mental and physical disturbance.

Organizing Chaos - De-clutter Your Life

I had written an organizing post around July 2012 which had a great response. But it was pretty long and I didn't have a proper blog at that time. Now I've had some time to share it in pieces so its easier to read and follow. This is the first part of a series of ten. I hope you will like this and look forward to reading the rest of the parts.

That Last Glance

There are some simple habits that we can build, that have a huge impact in our lives. Such habits can free us from so much hassle and inconvenience through our days. The sooner we can implement them, the lesser we lose and life becomes so much easier.

One of such things in life is that last glance. I know some people who are constantly looking for one thing or another resulting into frustration and disturbance. If only they would integrate this habit into their everyday lives, I'm sure that at least half of their worries would be gone.
