Genealogy Journal - Part VII (Keepsakes)

Good morning! For about a month or so, we have been going through my Genealogy Journal on this blog. We started off with Introduction, then we moved on to My Pedigree where each of my ancestor was dedicated a page up till my great great grandparents. Then Important Finds section followed with 3 pages dedicated to those relatives whom I found through my Ancestry Research. Then Family Trees section follows which has my family trees up till 5 generations, the first ancestor from 1500s. After that Blogs & Articles section followed with important articles through this journey. Today is the final part of this journal which is Keepsakes.

No Genealogy Journal would be complete without memories from the past. so I thought I had to have a section where I have a collection of my forefathers handwriting, telegrams, cards or souvenirs. Some things that remind us of them.

Genealogy Journal - Part IV (Important Finds)

I am sharing my Genealogy Journal with you guys. The first 3 parts were introduction and My Pedigree where I dedicated a page to each of my siblings, parents, grand parents, great grand parents and great great grandparents. If you missed out on those, please find them in Genealogy section here.

A section named 'Important Finds' follows where the most important finds from my Ancestry hobby have been dedicated a page. The first one is Robin Frederick Charles Kilburn who was the reason behind my interest in the subject. My nani Rosemary had lost contact with him for 50 years. She used to talk about him a lot and thus my whole search began for him around 2010. I had finally found him around 2011 in Mexico. Robin and we were all were very happy to have finally been reunited. Unfortunately, he passed away on 12th August 2015 which was a very big shock for us.

Genealogy Journal - Part III (My Pedigree contd.)

Dear Readers,

Here is the link to the first two parts of this journal in case you missed out on those:

Today my Genealogy Journal will continue its Pedigree section where I have dedicated a page to each of my great grandparents and great great grandparents. The least I could do to honor my past generations was to dedicate a page to them, to their lifestyle, hobbies and how they spent their time. Gathering all these details, made me feel close to them like never before. Through my intensive research, I found out really interesting things about my ancestors which I never knew.

This is my Pedigree and last two columns are dedicated a page as follows.

Genealogy Journal - Part II (My Pedigree till grandparents)

Welcome back. Today's post is a continuation of the first part where I started sharing my journal on the subject Ancestry. If you missed out that part, Here is a link. Today I will be starting to share its My Pedigree section which starts off with a family tree of my pedigree.

The Pedigree section starts from this page

Then follows another page of my pedigree along with some important facts. Normally people have 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great grand parents and 16 great great grandparents. But due to intermarriages, I only have 10 great great grandparents as the same ones are repeated in my family tree more than once. An example of this fact is that my parents and my paternal grandparents are cousins. And my maternal grandfather is my paternal grandmothers brother.

Genealogy Journal - Part I (Introduction & My Family)

Front page

Hi readers. I hope you all are well. I am really really excited about this post. I have been working on my Genealogy journal for a very long time now and I couldn't wait to share it with you guys. Genealogy is a subject which one can never complete. So if I waited to finish it, it would really take a lifetime. I still have to take out time and add my new family into it (My husband, his parents and his siblings).
